Senior Manager — IT Audit — Montréal — Up to $150,000

A leading Quebec-based professional services firm, well established and recognized for the rigour of its assurance practice, is strengthening its information technology audit team. This opportunity is designed for a seasoned professional ready to take ownership of large engagements across a diversified client base while playing a direct role in the growth of an expanding practice.

The mandate

Reporting to the partner in charge of assurance, the Senior Manager – Audit TI leads the planning, execution and review of IT general controls and application controls testing in support of financial statement audits and attestation engagements (SOC 1, SOC 2, NI 52-109). The incumbent oversees a team of managers, seniors and analysts, manages engagement budgets and profitability, and serves as a trusted advisor to client IT and finance leadership. By the end of the first year, the expectation is a portfolio delivered on time and on budget, a more structured team, and a measurable contribution to winning new IT assurance work.

The role day to day

• Plan and supervise IT controls audits (logical access, change management, IT operations, cybersecurity) tailored to each client’s risk profile.
• Review working papers, challenge conclusions and ensure documentation meets Canadian auditing standards and firm methodology.
• Lead SOC 1 and SOC 2 attestation engagements from engagement letter through report issuance.
• Present findings, deficiencies and recommendations to audit committees and senior management, in both French and English.
• Coach, evaluate and develop team members, take part in recruiting and build the practice’s succession pipeline.
• Drive business development: prepare proposals, meet prospective clients and expand IT assurance services within the existing client base.
• Stay current on control frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001) and embed data analytics and automation into audit approaches.

The ideal profile

• Minimum of 8 years of IT audit experience, including at least 3 years managing teams and engagements, ideally in public practice.
• CISA designation required; CPA, CISSP or CRISC designation is a strong asset.
• Command of COBIT, NIST or ISO 27001 frameworks and of SOC 1 / SOC 2 standards (CSAE 3416 and 3000).
• Hands-on experience with ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS).
• Fluency in French and English, spoken and written, required to serve a pan-Canadian clientele.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information systems or business technology management.
