Their teams work on various construction, renovation, or plumbing modification projects in the residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors.

Job Description:

The service plumber will visit clients to perform diagnostics, repairs, compliance upgrades, and installation of various equipment. They manage their interventions from start to finish, mentor an apprentice and/or a small team as needed, and work closely with the technical director and coordinator to ensure client satisfaction and the financial health of the projects. They apply the best trade practices, adhere to the current collective agreement, and act as an ambassador for the company.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Greet the client, validate the request, explain the intervention, confirm impacts (water, access, duration), obtain approval for extras if needed, and have the work orders signed before departure.
  • Perform on-site diagnostics, propose solutions compliant with plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Perform repairs and installations while adhering to OHS guidelines.
  • Work in close collaboration with the technical director and/or the coordinator.
  • Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors.
  • Master and read quotes, plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Mentor the apprentice or team as needed (lunch, breaks, start/end times).
  • Delegate clearly, monitor the quality of execution, and correct any discrepancies.
  • Anticipate time requirements and verify deliveries (quantities, condition, intact boxes).
  • Complete work orders daily with photos to distinguish contract work vs. extras.
  • Document tests (water, air, smoke) and complete D.A.R. reports.
  • Use ProgressionLive and email to optimize communication and archiving of evidence (photos, QRT, signatures).
  • Maintain the truck’s inventory (emergency materials) and ensure its maintenance (cleaning, oil, tires).
  • Participate in prevention meetings, apply OHS measures, keep the worksite clean, and conduct a final review to identify deficiencies/corrections.
  • Submit monthly supporting documents for overtime (credit card, gas, etc.).
  • Adhere to arrival/departure times and validate the progress of other trades and subcontractors at the end of the day.
  • All other related tasks.

Required Skills:

  • Possess training in plumbing.
  • Have gained significant on-site and service experience in a similar role.
  • Have obtained journeyman status.
  • Be able to read plans, specifications, and drawings.
  • Have a good command of digital tools (email, ProgressionLive) and forms (QRT, D.A.R., tests).
  • Be a person comfortable with client relations.
  • Be an independent, organized, and resourceful person.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
