BIM/Revit Structural Technician (Florida)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled BIM Structural Technician to join our team, specializing in AutoCAD and Navisworks. This role is crucial for integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) into our structural engineering and construction processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and innovation in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BIM Modeling:
    • Create, manage, and update 3D models using AutoCAD and Navisworks, ensuring they reflect the latest design changes and project requirements.
    • Develop detailed structural models that integrate with architectural, MEP, and other disciplines’ models.
  • Model Coordination:
    • Use Navisworks for clash detection, ensuring that all elements of the construction model fit together as intended, avoiding conflicts during construction.
    • Coordinate with other BIM professionals to maintain model integrity across different platforms and software.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Produce high-quality drawings, schedules, and reports from BIM models for use in construction and project management.
    • Ensure all documentation meets industry standards and project specifications.
  • Project Support:
    • Assist project managers and engineers in understanding BIM data to make informed decisions regarding design, construction, and cost.
    • Participate in design reviews, providing insights from the BIM perspective to enhance project outcomes.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Maintain and enhance skills in AutoCAD and Navisworks, staying updated with the latest features and best practices.
    • Troubleshoot software issues and optimize workflows to improve productivity.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure BIM models support project goals.
    • Facilitate BIM training sessions for team members to promote BIM literacy within the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with BIM, with a strong focus on AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and 3D modeling.
  • Advanced knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection, model review, and project coordination.
  • Understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with various project teams.
  • Certification in BIM or related technologies is a plus.
