Construction Project Manager (Florida)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead our commercial structural projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of projects from conception through to completion, with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction, project efficiency, and adherence to engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:
    • Oversee all aspects of commercial structural projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Client Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
    • Present project proposals, timelines, and budgets to clients, securing their approval and trust.
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project designs meet structural requirements and client specifications.
    • Manage project schedules, resources, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is aligned with the project’s critical path.
  • Engineering and Design Insight:
    • Review and interpret engineering designs, ensuring that construction methodologies align with design intent.
    • Collaborate with design teams to resolve any issues related to structural integrity, material selection, or construction methods.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential project risks early and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of construction professionals, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.
    • Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and project delivery capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on commercial structural projects.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-million dollar projects from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, or similar).
  • Certifications like PMP or similar would be advantageous.
