Financial Analyst

Description:

Under the supervision of the Financial Controller for Canada and Europe, you will participate in the preparation of financial reports and oversee all accounting and financial functions for the company’s Canadian and European operations. If you have experience in reporting and general accounting, a keen eye for detail and analysis, and a team spirit, you are the candidate we are looking for.

Main responsibilities:

  • Complete the end-of-month process including journal entry preparation;
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and various monthly reports;
  • Prepare weekly production KPI reports;
  • Review/prepare financial and bank reconciliations;
  • Analyze, document, and comment on monthly results, including investigating variances in various accounts and outcomes;
  • Actively participate in the year-end and audit process;
  • Review supplier invoice coding, as well as compliance reviews regarding payment procedures and internal controls;
  • Verify payroll entries;
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet analyses;
  • Participate in the budgeting process;
  • Complete inventory analyses;
  • Serve as a resource person for the management team, supporting the team in explaining financial performance;
  • Collaborate on the implementation and validation of various internal controls;
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts;
  • Ensure compliance with various tax and governmental filings;
  • Other related tasks.

Essential skills:

  • Proficiency in French/English, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of ERP accounting software is an advantage;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and the Office suite;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality;
  • Analytical mindset, independence, and versatility;
  • Strong ability to structure information and follow up on files;
  • Attention to detail, with good organizational and analytical skills.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, experience in the manufacturing sector would be an advantage.

Academic requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • A recognized accounting qualification would be an advantage.
