Production Engineer

Description

Under the supervision of the Engineering Director, the position holder is responsible for overseeing factory operations from a technical perspective and improving productivity through process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to optimize production and reduce costs.
  • Act as a technical resource in case of technical issues related to manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and optimize production equipment using advanced technologies to enhance efficiency.
  • Modify equipment to comply with machine safety standards.
  • Participate in analysis and deployment of plant layout projects.
  • Determine optimal methods while reducing non-value-added activities.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards across finished products, processes, and work procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to procurement and quality departments during selection and introduction of purchased components.
  • Develop technical documentation related to existing products, processes, and equipment.
  • Participate in the introduction of new products, defining manufacturing methods, implementing new equipment and tooling, and overseeing final production.

Profile of the Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or college diploma in Mechanical Engineering with solid experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP manufacturing management software is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the following processes is a plus: metal forming, powder coating, wood processing, assembly process, automation, and robotics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or other 3D software.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency.
