VP of Sales and Projects

Description

In collaboration with our team, you will be called upon to use your expertise to plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the sales and marketing activities of the sales, project management, and purchasing teams, as well as to monitor and oversee various contracts with our clients and suppliers. Each of our projects is unique, and you will be responsible for managing them from start to finish while implementing efficient operations and profitable systems to meet the current and future needs of the organization.

Tasks

  • Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the organization’s projects and sales division.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and achieve corporate goals while providing expertise and advice on projects and sales division.
  • Collaborate with other divisions and departments to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline project and sales processes.
  • Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans, such as those related to staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, material acquisitions, and facilities, align with the business plan and organization’s vision.
  • Establish, communicate, and implement policies, practices, standards, and security measures related to operations to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Review and approve cost control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Establish and administer the department’s budget.
  • Provide periodic performance reports and measures to the CEO/President and other executives.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and trends in project and sales management.
  • Identify training needs and ensure appropriate training is developed and delivered.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • University degree in an administrative or technical field with a minimum of 20 years of experience in project/contract/sales management in a manufacturing company.
  • Ability to communicate, work, and evolve in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to bring together multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • The candidate must also be willing to travel occasionally to Canada, USA, Europe, and Asia.

ASSET

  • Experience working with different cultures worldwide, notably in Japan.
  • Experience in the transport industry.
  • Experience in the railway industry (major asset).
