Electricity and Instrumentation Technician (Trois-Rivières)

Under the supervision of the Assistant Maintenance Director, the Electricity and Instrumentation Technician addresses maintenance and reliability issues within their area of expertise. They assist the project team’s technician with technical decisions and project execution while overseeing the technical aspects for electricians.

Responsibilities

Electrical and Instrumentation Systems Management

  • Address breakdowns in electrical systems and instrumentation across various facilities;
  • Understand and apply safety elements related to instrumentation at different sites;
  • Support colleagues in analyzing and researching solutions to engineering issues;
  • Assist maintenance supervisors in their duties;
  • Participate in the installation and calibration of measuring devices (pH, flow) and production equipment;
  • Continuously oversee work to resolve issues;
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical equipment and systems;
  • Provide technical support to the project team in their area of expertise;
  • Contribute to project design, component selection, and development of electrical plans as needed.

Personnel Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to workplace health and safety measures;
  • Plan and allocate the workforce required for activities.

Other Related Tasks

  • Be available to answer team questions via cellphone;
  • Manage time based on priorities and deadlines;
  • Perform any other tasks requested by the immediate supervisor within the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Education: College diploma in industrial electronics or industrial maintenance, professional diploma in electricity or electromechanics, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years in a role related to instrumentation or electricity.
  • Skills: Leadership, interpersonal skills, excellent communication, effective management, ability to work under pressure, and initiative.
  • Other:
    • Languages: Fluent French, knowledge of English an asset.
    • Software: Proficiency in Omron and Allen Bradley programming software, Word, Excel, Outlook.
    • Travel: Occasional.
    • Knowledge: Electrical networks, automation, manufacturing sector.
