Project Manager in Construction – Institutional Projects (Laval)

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for the management and execution of various institutional projects, including construction, renovation, expansion, and improvement of public or quasi-public infrastructure. You will oversee the complete management of these projects, from planning to delivery, ensuring their quality, compliance, and success.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating human and material resources in close collaboration with internal teams, professionals, and subcontractors;
  • Planning projects, monitoring budgets, and adhering to established timelines;
  • Developing work schedules and ensuring their rigorous follow-up based on project progress;
  • Negotiating and awarding contracts to subcontractors while optimizing collaborations;
  • Working with the superintendent to ensure site safety in accordance with current standards;
  • Supervising the validation and monitoring of shop drawings;
  • Managing change notices, organizing, and leading site meetings;
  • Maintaining smooth communication with project stakeholders: professionals, clients, subcontractors, etc.;
  • Compiling and archiving end-of-project documents and preparing final manuals for the client;
  • Performing any other related tasks associated with the management of institutional construction projects.

Qualifications Sought

  • Over 10 years of experience as a project manager in the construction sector, including institutional projects;
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (an asset);
  • Significant experience in a similar role;
  • Strong project management skills with a structured and proactive approach;
  • Unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety;
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Perfect command of French and English, both spoken and written;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Maestro, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, MS Project, and General Estimator (an asset).
