Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Business Development, the Sales Engineer develops new industrial clients while managing existing accounts in the servo motors, servo connectors, and hydraulic systems sectors. Additionally, this role covers the territories of Sainte-Julie, Quebec, and the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island). Thus, the candidate plays a key role in identifying business opportunities, promoting MCS-Servo’s technical solutions, and delivering high-quality customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Client Development: Identify and prospect new industrial clients in manufacturing, automation, and heavy equipment sectors, focusing on servo motors, servo connectors, and hydraulic systems.
- Existing Account Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with current clients, ensuring rigorous follow-up and addressing their technical and commercial needs.
- Client Needs Analysis: Assess clients’ technical requirements and propose tailored solutions in collaboration with MCS-Servo’s engineering team.
- Service Proposal Development: Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including cost estimates, in coordination with technical and distribution departments.
- Technical Support: Provide technical advice on the use, installation, and optimization of servo motors, servo connectors, and hydraulic systems.
- Project Follow-Up: Monitor orders, deliveries, and projects, ensuring compliance with timelines and client expectations.
- Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, new technologies, and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities or risks.
- Reports and Forecasts: Produce reports on sales activities, revenue forecasts, and growth opportunities for management.
- Representation: Participate in trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to promote MCS-Servo’s products and services.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and after-sales service departments to ensure an optimal client experience.
Job Requirements
Core Competencies
- Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written).
- Functional proficiency in English (spoken and written) to serve clients in the Maritimes and interact with international suppliers.
Technical Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of servo motors, servo connectors, and hydraulic systems (pumps, cylinders, manifolds, etc.).
- Familiarity with industrial applications in automation, heavy machinery, or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in office tools (MS Office) and, ideally, customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel in assigned territories (Sainte-Julie, Quebec, Maritimes).

Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Training or certification in technical sales (an asset).
- Health and safety training for construction sites (ASP Construction card, an asset).
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in technical sales, ideally in servo motors, hydraulic systems, or industrial automation.
- Proven experience in developing new client accounts and managing existing ones.
Working Conditions
- Location: Based in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, with frequent travel to Quebec and the Maritimes (Halifax, Moncton, Saint John, etc.).
- Schedule: Full-time, permanent.
