Key Responsibilities:
As a Construction Estimator, your excellent analytical skills will enable you to accurately estimate project costs and resource requirements. With your proactive attitude, you will make insightful suggestions to improve our bidding processes.
More specifically, you will:
- Analyze and interpret plans and bids, then estimate project costs;
- Study and analyze received bids, recommend acceptance or rejection, and negotiate prices and contracts with various stakeholders;
- Ensure the collection of all relevant information for each construction project and follow up internally;
- Communicate and discuss with clients and various stakeholders to inform them of changes and cost adjustments;
- Provide advice on bidding procedures;
- Implement and maintain bidding, control, and reporting systems and procedures;
- Prepare and maintain directories of suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals.
Desired Qualifications:
The person we are looking for stands out for their strong analytical and synthesis skills. Friendly and respectful, they offer the best possible customer service.
- Education: AEC in building or construction estimation; DEC in construction or architecture; or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
- Excellent command of AutoCAD software;
- In-depth knowledge of Quebec Building Code standards and regulations;
- Professional experience in the industrial and commercial sectors;
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Considered Assets:
- Knowledge of the Estimator General software;
- Experience in the agri-food sector;
- Knowledge of SketchUp software;
- Bilingualism.
