Shop Floor Supervisor (L’Orignal)

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Shop Floor Supervisor is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of on-site operators, ensuring all work is carried out safely, on time, and within budget, while managing the necessary equipment and materials.

Tasks:

  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making adjustments as necessary (weather, supply, deliveries, personnel).
  • Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to production employees / Coordinate workload by machine.
  • Ensure the application of quality control.
  • Train, manage, and mentor employees.
  • Provide the necessary resources and staff to meet schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety requirements.
  • Emphasize the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on personal protective equipment (PPE) and procedures.
  • Monitor man/machine time, comparing estimates (bids) to actual time.
  • Resolve conflicts or misunderstandings quickly and amicably.
  • Regularly report project status to supervisors and/or other officials.

Criteria Sought:

  • Education: College degree in Machining / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 / Class G driver’s license.
  • Have personal transportation.
  • Ability to use manual tools.
  • Ability to measure dimensions using instruments.
  • Having a forklift license is an asset for this position.
