Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Shop Floor Supervisor is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of on-site operators, ensuring all work is carried out safely, on time, and within budget, while managing the necessary equipment and materials.
Tasks:
- Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making adjustments as necessary (weather, supply, deliveries, personnel).
- Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to production employees / Coordinate workload by machine.
- Ensure the application of quality control.
- Train, manage, and mentor employees.
- Provide the necessary resources and staff to meet schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety requirements.
- Emphasize the safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on personal protective equipment (PPE) and procedures.
- Monitor man/machine time, comparing estimates (bids) to actual time.
- Resolve conflicts or misunderstandings quickly and amicably.
- Regularly report project status to supervisors and/or other officials.
Criteria Sought:
- Education: College degree in Machining / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Possess a valid Class 5 / Class G driver’s license.
- Have personal transportation.
- Ability to use manual tools.
- Ability to measure dimensions using instruments.
- Having a forklift license is an asset for this position.
