Description:
Under the authority of the Senior Director of Structure and Buildings, the incumbent acts as a project manager and is responsible for overseeing multiple projects from design to delivery. This role involves coordinating, supervising, and monitoring each phase of the projects to ensure their success at every stage.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead project design while adhering to the company’s standardized procedures and quality controls.
- Liaise with clients, division heads, directors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
- Work closely with drafters to ensure consistency and accuracy of plans.
- Actively participate in coordination meetings with clients and professionals involved in the projects.
- Review and approve plans created by drafters, making necessary adjustments to ensure successful project completion.
- Perform various technical and analytical tasks, including preliminary studies, investigations, and inspections required for project development.
- Prepare budget estimates for project construction costs.
- Coordinate work progress and ensure it aligns with plans, specifications, and established standards.
- Conduct periodic site supervision as assigned: inspections, report preparation, verification of shop drawings, problem resolution, attendance at site meetings, and negotiation of additional work.
- Draft technical reports detailing the status and progress of projects.
- Ensure project follow-up and maintain constant communication with clients.
- Meet established deadlines and manage priorities to ensure timely project delivery.
Job Requirements
Basic Skills:
- Excellent command of French (spoken and written).
- Functional knowledge of English (spoken and written).
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in civil engineering/building.
- Proficiency with software: Office (Word, Excel), ADA, SAFE, and AutoCAD.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
Personal Qualities:
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented.
- Autonomous and disciplined in project management.
- Ability to manage priorities and budgets.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

- Willingness to work frequently outdoors and occasionally in confined spaces or at heights.
Education or Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience in civil engineering.
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, or on track to obtain it (CPI), or a member of the Ordre des Technologues Professionnels du Québec.
- Safety training certification for construction sites (ASP card).
