Construction Engineer (Salaberry-de-Valleyfield)

Job Summary

The position offers diverse projects in the construction sector, primarily focusing on industrial installation and maintenance. The Construction Engineer will work under the supervision of a lead structural engineer and will encompass various design aspects (buildings, bridges, equipment supports, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction site activities, including concrete, steel, and wood structures.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, budgets, and invoicing.
  • Handle tender processes and subcontractor workforce management.
  • Develop structural designs, details, and drawings, including calculations for construction tasks.
  • Supervise and review technical documents to ensure they meet client expectations for quality and deadlines, ensuring profitability.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required by the company.

Growth Opportunities Include:

  • Assisting in proposal development.
  • Working on design-build projects, including direct interaction with clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, with structural design experience.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills capable of effective and professional interaction.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and follow instructions.

  • Ability to understand and achieve cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, autonomy, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills, able to maintain good business relations with various project stakeholders.
