Construction Estimator (Laval)

Description:

As a Construction Estimator, you will play a key role in accurately evaluating costs and resources required for large-scale projects in the agri-food, industrial, and commercial sectors. You will be responsible for analyzing plans, assessing bids, and negotiating with various stakeholders to ensure project success. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your analytical skills and ability to optimize bidding processes in a collaborative and stimulating environment.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Construction Estimator, you will ensure precise cost and resource estimates for project execution. Proactive and detail-oriented, you will also suggest improvements to the bidding processes.

More specifically, you will:

  • Analyze and interpret plans and specifications to evaluate project costs;
  • Study and assess bids, recommend acceptance or refusal, and negotiate with involved parties;
  • Collect and track relevant information for each project;
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to inform them of cost adjustments;
  • Advise on best practices for bidding processes;
  • Establish and maintain systems for bid control and reporting;
  • Manage a directory of suppliers, subcontractors, and industry professionals.

Desired Profile:

The ideal candidate has excellent analytical and synthesis skills. Courteous and respectful, they provide top-quality client service.

Qualifications:

  • Education: AEC in building or construction estimation, DEC in construction or architecture, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD software;
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec Building Code standards and regulations;
  • Professional experience in the industrial and commercial sectors;
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of “L’Estimateur Général” software;
  • Experience in the agri-food sector;
  • Proficiency with SketchUp software;
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
