Pre-Construction Project Manager (Laval)

We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Pre-Construction Project Manager to join our team in Laval. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient project planning and preparation before the start of the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and preliminary analysis of projects: Conduct feasibility studies, analyze existing sites and plans, and assess resource needs for each project.
  • Planning and coordination: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.
  • Pre-construction budget management: Prepare accurate cost estimates for pre-construction phases to ensure project profitability and financial viability.
  • Selection of subcontractors and suppliers: Assist in selecting and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers for materials and services required for pre-construction.
  • Risks and compliance: Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure all aspects of the project comply with local construction standards and regulations in Laval.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of all pre-construction phases, produce regular progress reports, and effectively communicate this information to management and stakeholders.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all questions and decisions related to the pre-construction phase of the project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong preference for pre-construction experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and local regulations in Laval.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, cost estimation, and risk management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in French and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.

  • Proficiency in project management software and computer-aided design (CAD).
