Project Manager (St-Esprit)

Job Description:

Under the authority of the Director of Infrastructure, the position holder is responsible for the full management of projects, from conception to delivery. They provide functional supervision to their team to ensure compliance with laws, standards, and client requirements, although not directly responsible for supervising department employees. The Project Manager primarily works in traffic engineering and municipal engineering.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Traffic management during construction;
  • Development of plans and specifications for signage and permanent marking;
  • Traffic and road safety studies;
  • Counting analyses and software simulations;
  • Urban infrastructure design;
  • Preparation of budget estimates for construction costs and establishment of contractual deadlines;
  • Site inspection for temporary marking and traffic management;
  • Conducting preliminary technical and analytical studies necessary for project execution;
  • Preparation and issuance of tender documents, analysis of bids, and recommendation of construction contracts;
  • Coordination of work progress and verification of compliance with plans and specifications;
  • Full management of construction projects, including inspections, problem resolution, preparation of progress estimates, site meetings, negotiation of additional work, and final inspections;
  • Comprehensive evaluation of projects from start to finish, adhering to schedules, specifications, and budget;
  • Budget forecasting and invoicing for assignments;
  • Close collaboration with team members, advising and supporting them to ensure quality and adherence to deadlines;
  • Review of work by site supervisors and maintenance of professional and quality standards;
  • Keeping abreast of developments in engineering, including new technologies and work methods;
  • Monitoring new trends, methods, and technologies relevant to the company;
  • Technical problem-solving and support required for project success;
  • Participation in the production of service bids and cost estimates;
  • Facilitation of coordination meetings with clients and relevant professionals.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written French;
  • Functional knowledge of spoken and written English;
  • Technical expertise in civil engineering required;
  • Experience in civil engineering design, road geometry, urban infrastructure, and/or construction management;
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Required Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction engineering;
  • Registered member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Construction site safety training (ASP card).

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in civil engineering.
