Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare work estimates by gathering proposals, quotes, plans, and tender documents.
- Identify and review general and specific project conditions.
- Calculate costs by accurately analyzing labor and material requirements.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers.
- Conduct quantity and material surveys with precision.
- Present prepared estimates to the chief estimator and/or project manager.
- Attend site visits when necessary.
- Propose, analyze, and recommend alternatives to drawing specifications.
- Prepare formal bids.
Experience and Skills Required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Academic background in estimation.
- Proficiency in estimation software and reading plans on screen.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Dynamism, versatility, autonomy, and initiative.
- Strong organizational skills to manage emergencies, stress, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team.
