Description:
The Vice President of Operations plays a key role in overseeing all sectors of production, quality, and health and safety. The primary objective is to ensure that products are manufactured in a safe environment, within scheduled timelines, and in line with budgetary targets. This role is responsible for continuously developing, maintaining, and improving operations within their scope, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the company’s strategic objectives. The incumbent will demonstrate strong leadership within a multinational, multisite environment, promoting effective collaboration across all organizational levels as well as with clients and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define strategic objectives and develop systems, processes, and policies related to operations, creating action plans to achieve the company’s overall goals.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and requirements in production, quality, and health & safety.
- Organize and lead Production, Quality, and Health & Safety teams to effectively meet company objectives and performance expectations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all facilities to ensure accurate performance tracking.
- Manage operational budgets by optimizing resource allocation and controlling expenses within budget limits.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities in equipment efficiency, planning, and personnel management while optimizing processes.
- Oversee the effectiveness of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to schedules, identifying bottlenecks, and proactively addressing them.
- Analyze production processes to anticipate and manage capacity constraints, making proactive adjustments as necessary.
- Coach and develop teams by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations for all employees.
- Contribute to the establishment of standards and processes across all facilities to harmonize practices.
- Maintain a strong corporate culture within operational departments, ensuring alignment with organizational values.
Desired Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, management, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management.
- At least 7 years in a senior management role within a manufacturing company.
- Essential experience managing multiple sites and facilities.
- Required experience working in the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities within a department and in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Full proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
- Availability to travel to the United States six days per month.
Location:
Based at our headquarters in Candiac, but the position may also be filled in the Montreal, Kingston, Gatineau, or Ottawa regions.
