The mandate

Larouche Raymond is representing a confidential client, an established manufacturer in Trois-Rivières, in its search for a Welding Process Technician. You will be the technical resource who optimizes parameters, qualifies procedures, and ensures every weld meets code. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the shop floor, where your expertise makes a measurable difference to both productivity and compliance.

The role day to day

  • Develop, document, and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) to applicable CSA W47.1, W59, or ASME standards.
  • Optimize welding parameters (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW) to improve quality and throughput while reducing rework.
  • Provide real-time technical support to welders on the shop floor and troubleshoot process issues.
  • Perform and interpret visual inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing with qualified resources.
  • Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the selection of consumables, shielding gases, and welding equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production on industrializing new products and fixtures.
  • Support the ongoing training and qualification of the welding team.

The ideal profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Vocational (DEP) or college (DEC) diploma in welding and fitting, mechanical engineering technology, or an equivalent technical background.
  • Command of the main processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW), plus blueprint and welding-symbol reading.
  • Solid knowledge of CSA W47.1/W59 or ASME standards; CWB inspector certification (Level 1 or 2) a strong asset.
  • Ability to write and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and to document work rigorously.
  • Analytical mindset, continuous-improvement rigour, and ease collaborating with production teams on the shop floor.
  • Fluency in French; technical English is an asset.

What our client offers

  • A salary of up to $85,000, based on experience and certifications.
  • A permanent, full-time day-shift role with a stable regional employer.
  • An environment where your technical expertise is recognized and valued.
  • Ongoing training and support toward recognized certifications.
  • A full benefits package and a safe, well-equipped workplace.
