IT Infrastructure Director — Ville Saint-Laurent — Up to $170,000

Our client, a well-established Quebec company with operations across Canada and internationally, is investing heavily in modernizing its technology infrastructure: redundancy, colocation and equipment renewal. With system stability and performance critical to operations, the company is seeking an IT Infrastructure Director to take charge of an experienced team and steer a technology environment in full evolution.

The mandate

Reporting to the IT leadership, you will act as both technical leader and manager of a multidisciplinary team of approximately 8 specialists, including security. You will be accountable for the stability, security and evolution of the technology environments while fostering a strong culture of collaboration. In your first year, success will hinge on quickly earning the trust of a seasoned team already in place and advancing the modernization agenda without compromising the high availability of critical systems.

The role day to day

  • Coach, mobilize and develop a team of approximately 8 infrastructure and security specialists, managing priorities and workload
  • Oversee the full IT infrastructure portfolio: networks, servers, telephony and security
  • Ensure high availability of critical systems and manage colocation environments with multi-site redundancy
  • Take an active part in architecture decisions and oversee modernization and equipment-renewal projects
  • Manage firewalls and access controls, and contribute to business continuity strategies (BCP/DRP)
  • Work closely with the other IT teams and partners, including on international integration projects and deployments
  • Serve as the point of reference for strategic and operational decisions

The ideal profile

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure
  • Significant experience managing a technical team
  • Experience in critical, high-availability environments
  • Strong grasp of networking (switching, routing), security (firewalls, best practices), hybrid and colocation infrastructure, and enterprise telephony
  • Ability to contribute hands-on to architecture: a field-level profile, not a purely strategic one
  • Proficiency in French and excellent communication skills

Key skills: IT Infrastructure Management, Networking, IT Security, Firewalls, High Availability, Colocation, Business Continuity (BCP/DRP), Enterprise Telephony, IT Architecture, Technical Team Leadership

What our client offers

  • Salary of $150,000 to $180,000, with flexibility for an exceptional profile
  • Permanent, full-time position, on-site in Ville Saint-Laurent (Montréal), Quebec: greater on-site presence at the start to ease integration, then flexibility based on autonomy and performance
  • A stable, structured, long-term-oriented environment
  • Major technology investments already under way: modernization, redundancy, colocation
  • A role with room to grow within an organization of international scope
