Mechanical Engineer, up to $165,000 + bonus — Montreal (Remote)

The mandate

Larouche Raymond is representing a confidential client — a solid, growing organization — in its search for a seasoned mechanical engineer. This mandate is built for a self-directed, rigorous professional who thrives in a fully remote setting. You will be at the heart of the design, analysis and continuous improvement of mechanical products and systems. It is a senior role where deep technical expertise is recognized and rewarded.

The role day to day

• Design, model and validate mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA or equivalent).
• Perform technical analyses (stress, tolerance, thermal, FEA) to ensure performance and reliability.
• Lead product development projects from feasibility through to production, on time and on budget.
• Produce technical specifications, manufacturing drawings and engineering packages that meet applicable standards.
• Collaborate remotely with production, procurement and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
• Select materials and manufacturing processes, optimizing cost, robustness and manufacturability.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and review their deliverables.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and document continuous-improvement processes.

The ideal profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; membership in good standing with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) a strong asset.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Advanced command of a 3D CAD platform, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and finite element analysis (FEA).
• Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written, essential for working with multi-site teams.
• Proven autonomy and the discipline to deliver in a fully remote environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, molding, welding) and ISO standards.
• Strong communication and project-management skills.
