Lead a mechanical maintenance team and make equipment reliability your signature.
Up to $120,000 · L’Orignal, ON · On-site · 5+ years · Full time
The mandate
On behalf of a confidential client, a well-established industrial organization in the L’Orignal area of Eastern Ontario, Larouche Raymond is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. You will lead a team of technicians and mechanics day to day, keep production lines running, and build a disciplined preventive-maintenance culture. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role where your leadership is measured in equipment uptime as much as in worker safety, with a direct and visible impact on plant performance.
The role day to day
- Plan, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the mechanical maintenance team (preventive, corrective and predictive).
- Build and maintain preventive-maintenance schedules to reduce unplanned downtime and maximize equipment availability.
- Assign work orders, coach technicians and mechanics, and support the growth of their skills.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic failures, and prioritize interventions based on their impact on production.
- Enforce rigorous health and safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures and applicable regulations.
- Manage critical spare-parts inventory and work with suppliers on procurement and service contracts.
- Track performance indicators (MTBF, MTTR, maintenance costs) and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with production, engineering and management to plan shutdowns and improvement projects.
The ideal profile
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, including hands-on team supervision.
- College diploma in mechanical engineering or industrial maintenance, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ideally rounded out by electromechanical experience.
- Solid grasp of preventive and predictive maintenance principles and experience with a CMMS.
- Motivating leadership, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a production environment.
- Thorough knowledge of health and safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Bilingualism (French and English), essential in a bilingual workplace; a relevant trade certification (e.g., industrial mechanic or electromechanic) is an asset.
What our client offers
- Competitive compensation of up to $120,000, based on experience.
- A permanent, full-time, on-site position within a stable and well-established organization.
- A full range of group benefits and a retirement plan.
- A leadership role with genuine responsibility and direct influence on plant performance.
- An environment where safety, reliability and team development are taken seriously.
