Senior AutoCAD Draftsperson — Building Mechanical/HVAC, up to $100,000 — Joliette (hybrid)

The mandate

Our firm is representing a confidential client, a specialty contractor in ventilation, heating and air conditioning, active on commercial, industrial and institutional projects. As Senior AutoCAD Draftsperson, you will turn plans and specifications into clear, coordinated, buildable drawings that serve the job site, fabrication and installation. You will play a central role in keeping work flowing between the office, the shop and the field. The position is based in Joliette, on a hybrid schedule, with compensation of up to $100,000.

The role day to day

• Produce and update execution, installation and coordination drawings for ventilation and building mechanical systems.
• Interpret plans, specifications and site surveys to prepare buildable drawings consistent with actual field conditions.
• Model duct networks, equipment, supports and other details required for fabrication and installation.
• Coordinate drawings with project managers, estimators, foremen, the fabrication shop and other trades.
• Help resolve spatial conflicts and make technical adjustments to keep the work moving forward.
• Handle revisions, issued-for-construction sets, final drawings and as-built plans when required.
• Provide hands-on technical support to execution: dimension checks, change tracking and technical clarifications.

The ideal profile

• Significant experience as a senior draftsperson in building mechanical systems, with a strong focus on ventilation and HVAC.
• Excellent command of AutoCAD and the ability to produce clean, structured drawings that field teams can use easily.
• Strong reading of plans and specifications, with the ability to visualize the actual installation and anticipate execution constraints.
• Field-minded, organized, rigorous and autonomous, comfortable managing several priorities at once.
• At ease communicating with project managers, estimators, installers, suppliers and clients.
• Assets: experience with site surveys, knowledge of duct fabrication and comfort in a structured SME environment.
