Larouche Raymond is representing a confidential client — a leading Greater Montreal employer — in its search for a seasoned leader able to combine energy strategy, sustainable transition and engineering rigour. The role brings together long-term vision, leadership of multidisciplinary teams and direct influence with senior management. You will concretely shape the energy direction of an ambitious organization at the heart of major decarbonization challenges. A rare opportunity for an experienced executive ready to leave their mark.

The role day to day

 
  • Define and deploy the organization’s overall energy strategy, aligned with growth and decarbonization objectives.
  • Lead engineering and energy project teams, ensuring quality, timelines and adherence to capital budgets.
  • Assess and prioritize investments in energy efficiency, generation and technology infrastructure.
  • Establish energy transition and greenhouse gas reduction roadmaps.
  • Represent the organization with partners, energy suppliers, regulators and government bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical, environmental and safety standards.
  • Oversee business cases, feasibility studies and major capital projects.
  • Advise senior leadership and the board on energy-related risks and opportunities.

The ideal profile

 
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in engineering, energy or large-scale project management.
  • Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams and managing investment portfolios.
  • University degree in engineering; professional engineer designation (OIQ) strongly preferred.
  • Strong command of energy transition, efficiency and decarbonization challenges.
  • Mobilizing leadership and a demonstrated ability to influence senior management and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiation, budget management and project governance skills; political acumen and analytical rigour.
  • Fluency in French; functional English an asset.
