The mandate

 

Larouche Raymond is representing a confidential client, a Québec-based firm recognized as a leader in energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction. With nearly 30 years of experience, the company delivers large-scale projects across Canada in the institutional, municipal, commercial and industrial sectors. Working within the engineering team, the Building Mechanical Designer will take ownership of every design phase of energy efficiency projects while engaging directly with clients. It is a meaningful role at the heart of a mission that matters for the planet.

The role day to day

 
  • Research, develop and design innovative, high-performance energy efficiency solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Plan and manage the various stages of the project design phase.
  • Perform energy simulations and calculate energy and financial savings.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Complete the calculations and technical documentation required for financial assistance applications.
  • Write proposals, detailed studies and technical reports.
  • Prepare plans, specifications and tender documents.
  • Contribute to research and development activities related to energy efficiency solutions.
  • Provide technical support to construction and post-implementation follow-up teams.

The ideal profile

 
  • University degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building mechanical systems, ideally with an energy services company (ESCO).
  • Solid knowledge of applicable codes and standards (Québec Construction Code, CSA, NFPA).
  • Assets: OIQ membership, LEED AP, CEM or PCMV certifications, accredited recommissioning agent, knowledge of Québec energy rates.
  • Rigour, strong organizational skills and excellent priority management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in French (English an asset).
  • Available for occasional travel within Canada.
