National Director, Distribution and Operations Transformation — Montréal — Up to $225,000

A leading Canadian specialty distribution organization in the automotive sector, operating coast to coast, is preparing the next phase of its national network transformation. This is a senior mandate for an operations leader who turns strategy into measurable results at national scale.

The mandate

Reporting to the Vice-President, Supply Chain and Distribution, you will shape the evolution of a complex national network of 25 warehouses and two distribution centres across Canada. Your mission: define an ambitious operational vision, accelerate process transformation and durably raise the performance of the network. In year one, you will be expected to deliver concrete results — standardized practices, stronger financial discipline and solid foundations for sustainable growth. Far more than an operational leadership role, this mandate lets you influence company priorities and leave a lasting mark.

The role day to day

• Define and deploy a national operational vision that elevates the performance of the warehouse and distribution centre network.
• Transform and standardize processes to improve service, capacity, safety, quality and cost efficiency at scale.
• Convert operational and financial data into clear priorities, faster decisions and measurable business results.
• Build close working relationships with the retail network, the supply chain organization and global group partners.
• Strengthen financial discipline, inventory control and the consistent application of business practices across operational teams.
• Build, mobilize and develop a high-performing team of leaders grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
• Optimize delivery-route safety and efficiency, centralized customer service and warehouse management system connectivity.

The ideal profile

• University degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, operations management, administration, commerce or a related discipline.
• Approximately 15 years of progressive professional experience, including about 10 years in supply chain, distribution or wholesale operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex or multi-region operations; experience within a national-scale organization is a significant asset.
• In-depth knowledge of distribution, transportation, logistics and warehouse management systems; experience with a WMS such as Infios or Oracle is an asset.
• Full professional proficiency in French and English, spoken and written, given the national scope of the mandate.
• Proven ability to operate effectively within a global organization, adopting and adapting group best practices to local needs.
