The mandate

 

Larouche Raymond is representing a confidential client, a well-established Canadian commercial bakery recognized for the quality of its products and the reliability of its high-volume operations. To support its continued growth, our client is seeking a Night Production Supervisor for its Montréal facility. Reporting to the production leadership, you will plan, coordinate and supervise all night-shift activities to deliver on safety, quality, yield and food-safety objectives. It is a key role at the heart of operational performance, built for a hands-on leader who keeps things moving.

The role day to day

 
  • Supervise all night-shift production operations to ensure they run efficiently, safely and in line with established standards.
  • Plan and organize the teams’ work according to the production schedule, priorities and volumes to be manufactured.
  • Deliver on productivity, yield, waste, quality and on-time objectives.
  • Coach, engage and support production employees, allocating staff and adjusting priorities in real time.
  • Ensure compliance with recipes, processes, health and safety standards, food-safety requirements and good manufacturing practices.
  • Follow up on line stoppages, production variances, rejects, material losses and non-conformities.
  • Work closely with the maintenance, quality, sanitation, shipping and day-shift production teams.
  • Document shift events, produce the required reports and ensure a rigorous handover between shifts.
  • Identify continuous-improvement opportunities and help implement concrete solutions.

The ideal profile

 
  • College diploma or relevant training in production, food processing or manufacturing management.
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the food sector.
  • Engaging leadership and the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Rigour, autonomy, strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems quickly.
  • Comfortable with computer tools for production tracking, reporting and communications.
  • Able to work the night shift on a regular basis; French-English bilingualism is an asset.
  • Continuous-improvement experience and familiarity with manufacturing performance indicators are assets.
