Senior Sales Engineer, Azure DevOps & Cloud — Côte Ouest des États-Unis (télétravail) — Up to $200,000

Our client, a North American consulting firm specialized in Azure, GitHub and DevOps and a recognized Microsoft and GitHub partner, is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to open and grow accounts across the western and central United States. This is not a pre-sales support seat: you own the deal, carry the number and close it yourself. The firm wants an engineer first, someone who has shipped CI/CD, written infrastructure as code and led a modernization from the inside, and who now wants to find, scope and win the work rather than only deliver it.

The mandate

You own a territory centred on the West Coast and extending through the Mountain and Central time zones, measured on net-new and expansion revenue. Deals come from the Microsoft and GitHub account teams in your territory, from inbound generated by the firm’s webinars and accelerators, and from your own prospecting into companies that are mid-migration or stuck on legacy pipelines. A typical cycle runs six to sixteen weeks, and there is no separate solutions architect: you are both the technical half and the commercial half of every deal. You report directly to the President and sit in the company’s planning and strategy meetings.

The role day to day

  • Build the pipeline needed to hit the territory’s revenue target, West Coast first, then the Mountain and Central time zones.
  • Develop working relationships with Microsoft and GitHub account executives, cloud solution architects and partner development managers, and become the partner they bring into DevOps and modernization opportunities.
  • Lead discovery with engineering leadership (current pipelines, cloud estate, release cadence, governance, pain points) and translate it into a scoped engagement.
  • Run technical assessments, Azure DevOps and GitHub strategy sessions and platform engineering and governance accelerators yourself, and whiteboard the target architecture.
  • Write proposals and statements of work with the delivery practice leads, estimate effort, price the engagement and negotiate it to signature, positioning Microsoft and GitHub funding programs correctly (Azure Migrate and Modernize, Azure Innovate, ECIF).
  • Stay on closed accounts as executive sponsor, run quarterly reviews with the client and the delivery team, and expand into adjacent work.
  • Represent the firm at Microsoft and GitHub field events in your territory, and keep the CRM accurate and the forecast disciplined.

The ideal profile

  • 7+ years in development, DevOps or cloud engineering, with at least 3 years hands-on in Microsoft Azure in production: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions pipelines you built, Terraform or Bicep you wrote, workloads you ran on AKS or similar.
  • 3+ years scoping, proposing and helping close professional or consulting services engagements of $100K to $1M+, with results you can point to.
  • Experience working with or through the Microsoft field, and a current network of Microsoft or GitHub account teams, partner managers or customers on the West Coast or in the central United States.
  • Ability to run a technical discovery or architecture session with a principal engineer on your own, plus a working understanding of Azure landing zones, governance, identity and networking.
  • Fluent professional English, spoken and written, with credible executive presence in front of VPs of Engineering, CTOs and CIOs.
  • Based in the Pacific (or Central) time zone with legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship, and candidates in the Eastern time zone or outside the United States are not considered.

Nice to have: AZ-400, AZ-305, AZ-104 or GitHub certifications, time at a Microsoft or GitHub partner, experience with Microsoft co-sell programs, and a second practice you can sell credibly (data and AI, Microsoft Fabric, cloud governance).

Key skills: Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Bicep, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Consulting Services Sales, Application Modernization

What our client offers

  • A base salary plus uncapped commission with accelerators above target; total compensation is confirmed on the first call.
  • A full-time W-2 position, fully remote from the West Coast or the Central time zone (United States), with travel to client sites and partner events.
  • A defined territory with Microsoft and GitHub field relationships already in place and marketing-generated inbound alongside your own prospecting.
  • Paid Microsoft and GitHub certifications and a budget for conferences and field events.
  • A seat at the table in planning and strategy meetings, plus a senior consulting bench and accelerators that make the engagements you sign land well.
