The mandate

Our client, a well-established general contractor in the Québec City region, is seeking a Site Superintendent to take full ownership of day-to-day operations on its jobsites. You will be the backbone of field execution: planning daily activities, coordinating subcontractors, keeping budget and schedule on track, and owning site health and safety from end to end. Reporting to the General Superintendent and working hand in hand with the Project Manager, you will hold a decision-making role at the centre of project delivery.

The role day to day

• Plan, coordinate and direct all daily activities on the jobsite.
• Secure the resources the site needs: equipment, labour and materials.
• Build three-week look-ahead schedules and lead weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Keep budget and schedule on track in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Inspect completed work for conformity with plans, specifications and addenda.
• Manage site procurement and maintain the daily site log.
• Own site health and safety: risk identification, preventive measures and safety meetings.

The ideal profile

• A minimum of 5-7 years in a similar site-supervision role in the industry.
• Strong command of plans, specifications and addenda.
• Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and managing look-ahead schedules.
• Excellent communication skills; an analytical, structured and accountable profile.
• Ability to perform under pressure, with strong organizational skills and demonstrated autonomy.
• Proficiency with the MS Office suite; CCQ certification is an asset.
