The mandate
A well-established Quebec manufacturer is looking for a Director, Quality and Operations Support Services to lead four key functions: quality, occupational health and safety, operational excellence and the standardization of work methods. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will act as a true strategic partner to operations and contribute to shaping the company’s strategic direction. This is a complete leadership mandate — with team management and budget accountability — for a leader who wants to build a lasting culture of excellence.
The role day to day
- Oversee all activities of the quality department and ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality management system
- Implement quality performance indicators and oversee the management of non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions
- Lead occupational health and safety activities, promote a strong and proactive OHS culture and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Develop and deploy continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S) to optimize productivity, quality and lead times
- Drive the standardization of work methods and oversee the documentation of procedures, work instructions and operational standards
- Coach, engage and develop the teams under your responsibility and manage the budgets of your departments
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s strategic orientations
The ideal profile
- A relevant university degree in engineering, operations management, quality or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in plastics processing, metal or assembly
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001 quality standard
- Experience in process standardization and documentation
- Proficiency with IT tools (advanced Excel, ERP)
- Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement tools is an asset
