The mandate

Larouche Raymond is representing a confidential client — a well-established organization in the Laval region — in its search for an Intermediate Civil Engineer specializing in municipal infrastructure. You will join a seasoned technical team where your designs for water mains, sewers, roadways and stormwater management come to life in the field. This is a concrete, career-shaping role with genuine room for advancement.

The role day to day

  • Design and produce plans and specifications for municipal infrastructure projects: water and sewer networks, roadways, drainage and stormwater management.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, network modelling and structure sizing in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Provide site supervision and technical follow-up of works alongside contractors and inspectors.
  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules and tender documents.
  • Write technical reports and formulate recommendations for municipal clients.
  • Coordinate stakeholders — surveyors, technicians, subcontractors — and ensure timelines and budgets are met.
  • Ensure project compliance with MELCCFP standards, municipal requirements and sound engineering practices.
  • Occasionally mentor technicians and junior engineers on their deliverables.

The ideal profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in municipal infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D); familiarity with hydraulic modelling tools (PCSWMM), an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of municipal standards, BNQ standards and Quebec environmental requirements.
  • Experience in site supervision and engineering project management.
  • Technical rigour, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, paired with solid communication and client-relations skills in French.
  • Valid driver’s licence for site visits.
