The mandate
Our client, a well-established Quebec company that designs and integrates advanced automation solutions for industrial welding, is looking for a Welding Technician. You will act as the go-to technical expert for an international client base: diagnostics, process optimization, system commissioning and training. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role where your expertise directly drives the performance of clients’ automated welding cells and their overall satisfaction. You will join a dynamic team guided by values of innovation, collaboration, accountability and client focus.
The role day to day
- Help determine the most suitable welding processes for each application
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting, both remotely and on site at client facilities
- Diagnose issues related to welding parameters, configurations and recorded data
- Guide clients through the analysis, correction and optimization of their automated welding parameters
- Conduct welding trials and develop operating procedures
- Prepare technical proposals and reports
- Commission welding systems and deliver technical training to clients (equipment operation, system maintenance, welding processes)
The ideal profile
- College diploma (DEC) in Metallurgical Technology or vocational diploma (DEP) in welding and fitting
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of automated welding, an asset
- Bilingual French and English, spoken and written
- Availability for worldwide travel to client sites, approximately 20% of the time annually
